Mensho Tokyo is a huge one - people wait hours in line for their Ramen (which I consider to be the best in the Bay Area), and Outside Lands attendees will have exclusive, on demand access to it. Um.ma is new this year as well, and I can't wait to dig into a bowl of their colorful Bibimbap over the Outside Lands weekend. We have more new vendors this year than ever before, and I couldn't be more excited for our fans to try all of the new dishes they'll be serving! Suppenküche is a traditional German restaurant that opened in Hayes Valley over 20 years ago, and they're new on this year's food lineup, serving Berlin's favorite street food: Currywurst. What's new? What's returning? What are you looking forward to? Talk about the highlights of this year's vendors.

Once people see it and taste it they're hooked, even though they previously may not have been familiar with it. A perfect example is Reem's California's Za'atar Man'oushe, which is like a Palestinian flatbread of sorts. A change I've noticed is that our fans have become more open to cuisines they aren't familiar with, especially if they're described in an accessible way. That's why I am so excited to have one of the biggest names in Quesabirria, El Garage, on the lineup this year.Īnother huge food trend right now is Basque Cheesecake, and Oui Oui! Macaron will be serving up slices in unique flavors like Salted Egg Yolk and Pumpkin. The gooey/crispy cheese, tender meat, and savory consommé are a match made in heaven. People are obsessed with them, and for good reason. New food trends are constantly emerging in the Bay Area, and I think one of the biggest to catch on over the last year or so is Quesabirra Tacos. It's all about looking at what's going on in the Bay Area food scene and thinking about what might translate well to a festival environment.

I would say the process has remained pretty consistent from year to year.

Over the years, has your process changed at all? Have you noticed any different food trends emerge over the years? What has changed over the years since you've been curating the F&B selection? We chatted with Food Curator Tanya Kollar on her process of curating the best of the best for the festival, festival highlights, VIP food offerings and more. Also in the lineup are magicians Jon Armstrong, Simone Turkington, Robert Strong and Chris Britt as well as musical performances by Neal Francis, ZEBUEL and Amorphous.
